Comparisons
What are the best copy trading platforms?
There are three shapes, not a ranked list. Exchange copy trading follows traders inside a venue that holds your funds. Onchain copy trading follows public wallets, with tokens landing in a wallet you control. Terminals sit between them: they show you the flow and let you execute manually or automate it. The right one is decided by what you want to copy.
The three shapes
- Exchange copy trading. Best reach into leverage and perpetuals on major assets. The venue holds funds and the record is its own.
- Onchain wallet copying. Follows a public address; anything with a pool is copyable, performance is independently verifiable, and you keep custody.
- Terminals and feeds. Show tracked trader activity as it lands and let you take the position manually or hand it to a bot. Keeps judgement in the loop, which matters more than it sounds.
How to compare any two of them
- Custody. Who can move the funds, and what happens if the platform fails.
- Verifiability. Can you check the trader's record yourself, or only read a number the platform published?
- What is copyable. Listed assets only, or anything onchain.
- Control over sizing and exits. If you cannot set a fixed size, a stop and a position cap, you cannot manage the risk.
- Latency. How long between the leader's fill and yours, which is the largest cost in any copied entry.
