Getting started
How do I connect my wallet to a dapp?
Click connect, pick your wallet, approve the prompt. That first step shares only your public address and lets the site propose transactions - it grants no ability to spend. Everything that can cost you money happens afterwards, in the prompts you sign, which is where the attention belongs.
What each prompt means
- Connect. Shares your public address. Reversible at any time from the wallet, and it cannot move anything.
- Sign message. Proves you control the address. Free and usually harmless - but read it, because a signature can also authorise things.
- Approve token. Grants a contract permission to move a specific token from your wallet, potentially without limit. This is the one that drains wallets.
- Confirm transaction. Executes something specific, once, for a fee you can see.
Before you connect anything
- Check the domain character by character. Lookalike domains are the entire phishing business.
- Reach the site from your own bookmark, never from a search ad, a reply, or a chat link.
- Use a wallet funded only with what you are actively trading, so a mistake is bounded by design.
- Disconnect sites you no longer use, and periodically revoke old token approvals.
