How do I spot metas and narratives?

A meta is a category of token that is currently being bought as a group - a theme, an animal, a format, a news cycle. Spotting one early means noticing that several unrelated tokens sharing a trait are all working at once, which shows up in a feed of real trader activity long before it shows up in any single chart.

How a meta becomes visible

  1. Several tokens sharing a trait perform well within a short window, with no obvious connection between their creators.
  2. Traders who do not usually agree start entering the same category.
  3. New launches begin copying the trait, which is the clearest confirmation and also the beginning of the end.
  4. The category reaches people outside the market, which is usually the top.

Early versus exhausted

  • Early. A handful of tokens, most attempts still failing, and entries concentrated in traders with a record.
  • Middle. Copies launching hourly and most of them getting some volume. Tradeable and crowded.
  • Exhausted. Every new copy fails immediately while the originals still look strong on a chart. That gap is the signal.

Why a trader feed beats a screener here

A screener shows tokens that already moved. A feed of tracked traders shows what people with a record are buying now, and a meta is precisely the thing that is visible as a pattern across several traders before it is visible as a price on any one chart.
