Getting started

How do I start trading crypto with no experience?

Start by learning the mechanics with an amount too small to matter, not by trying to make money. Buy something, move it to your own wallet, sell it, and watch each step confirm. Only then take positions, at a fixed size you would shrug at losing, and give it thirty trades before you conclude anything about whether you are any good at this.

Week one: learn the pipe

  1. Buy a small amount of a major asset from a regulated on-ramp.
  2. Withdraw it to your own wallet and watch it arrive.
  3. Swap a little of it for another token, then swap back. Note what each round trip cost you.
  4. Send some back out. You have now proven every step in both directions, which is more than most people ever do.

Week two: decide the rules before the trades

  1. One fixed position size, chosen so twenty consecutive losses would be boring.
  2. A stop loss and a take-profit level, written down.
  3. A daily loss limit that ends the session when hit.
  4. A liquidity floor, below which you simply do not buy.

Weeks three and four: gather evidence

Take trades at that size and change nothing. You are not trying to win yet, you are building a sample. After thirty closed trades you will have a win rate, an average win, an average loss and a real cost per round trip. That is the first moment any conclusion is available to you, and almost nobody waits for it.
