Getting started

What if I lose everything?

In spot trading your loss is capped at what you deposited - the token can go to zero and stop there, and nobody can ask you for more. That is the mechanical answer. The real answer is upstream of it: the amount you put in should be one whose complete loss changes nothing about your month, because for most memecoin positions complete loss is the ordinary outcome.

What losing everything actually looks like

Rarely one catastrophic trade. Usually a sequence: a loss, a larger position to recover it, a worse loss, and a series of decisions made while trying to get back to even. The mechanism is behavioural, and it is why a daily loss limit protects an account better than any entry signal.

If it has already happened

  1. Stop trading. Not for the day - for long enough that the next decision is not about this one.
  2. Do not add funds to recover. This is the single most expensive instinct in trading and it is nearly universal.
  3. Write down what the sizing actually was on each trade. The pattern is almost always visible and almost always the same.
  4. Treat any 'recovery service' as a second scam targeting victims of the first. Onchain transactions cannot be reversed by anyone.
