What is a graduated token?

A graduated token is one that raised enough on a launchpad's bonding curve to be moved into a normal liquidity pool on a decentralised exchange. Graduation is a threshold, not a quality judgement: it says the token attracted enough buying to clear the launchpad's bar, and nothing else.

What changes at graduation

  • Pricing. Formula-driven becomes market-driven, set by the ratio of assets in a pool.
  • Depth. Larger orders become possible without walking the price several percent.
  • Routing. Aggregators can now find and split across the pool, so fills improve.
  • Visibility. Screeners and feeds pick the token up, which brings a second wave of attention.

Why traders watch for it

Graduation is one of the few scheduled-looking events a memecoin has, and it reliably concentrates attention. It is also where early curve buyers finally have the depth to sell size. Both things are true at once, which is why the move immediately after graduation is frequently violent in both directions.
