What is a token launchpad?
A token launchpad is a service that creates a token, seeds it with an initial pricing mechanism and makes it immediately tradeable, usually in under a minute and for a trivial fee. It standardises the boring parts - supply, initial liquidity, the path to a real pool - and checks nothing about whether the token is worth owning.
What a launchpad does for you
- Mints the token with a fixed supply.
- Puts it on a bonding curve so it is priceable and tradeable from the first second.
- Handles graduation into a real liquidity pool once a threshold is reached.
- Often locks or burns the initial liquidity, which removes one specific rug vector.
What it does not do
It does not verify who the creator is, whether the same person launched forty tokens this week, or whether a handful of wallets bought most of the supply in the first block. Standardised issuance removes some risks and creates volume in all the others. The screening job is still entirely yours.
The trader's read
- Check holder concentration in the first minutes. A few wallets holding most of the supply is the single strongest negative signal.
- Check whether liquidity is locked or burned once it graduates.
- Check the deployer's history. Serial launchers are a pattern, and the pattern repeats.
